New scripting stuff in 16.5.6+

Capture One 16.5.6 was just released last week and for the second time in as many months, again contains new script properties (woo) – this time a theme around cropping.

User crop ratios

This class refers to the user generated ratios you save yourself. There are several capabilites:

EX 1.

Make a new ratio. Note ratios are expressed as decimal – e.g 1.7777777r is 16:9

EX 2.

Delete a ratio by name

EX 3.

Delete all ratios

EX 4.

Get a list of ratios by name (or by ratio using the ratio property in place of name)

EX 5.

Get a list of ALL available ratios from the app, inc user

Changing ratio

EX 6.

It is possible to set the ratio on the variant, using the name (text) of an existing ratio.

EX 7.

It is also possible to alter the orientation of the ratio using one of three enumerated values, though this has some behaviour that needs to be observed as this will change the crop (maintaining centre and the shortest side).

The only thing missing is the ability to select the crop ratio at the app level (as a sort of preflight operation to make sure the user has the prescribed cropping behaviour). At the time of writing, this is a (submitted) feature request.
